Clinical Counseling

At our core, we are all inherently good, lovable, deserving, and worthy, and we entered this world purely as this truth. As life progressed, we internalized negative beliefs imposed on us by our families, society, and various experiences. This disconnected us from our true selves and the inherent worthiness that lies within us. As we continued to identify with these negative beliefs, we created a distorted lens that we interpret and interact with the world through, creating a negative feedback loop that causes emotional and physical distress.

Counseling is part of an integrated, holistic approach to wellbeing. It gives us the opportunity to make us conscious to these quiet negative beliefs, compassionately challenge them, heal old wounds, remove our distorted lenses, and realign our paths back to our truths; the inherent good we all are.

Steph RayLCSW, RYT, WFR

Hi, I'm Steph, and I love getting curious about the self!

I find fulfillment in collaborating with individuals who desire to lead an authentic, balanced life. My ideal clients possess a genuine curiosity about their subconscious and its impact on their well-being. I offer a secure and supportive space where we can explore the depths of your psyche and better understand your nervous system together. During our sessions, we will uncover hidden patterns, habits, and beliefs that may be causing disharmony in your life. From there, we will work on developing skills that will allow you to navigate life with awareness, choice, lightheartedness, and empowerment. My specialization lies in treating anxiety, depression, and trauma. I provide a non-judgmental environment where we can delve into deep-seated issues.

My clinical lens integrates the foundation of the first four Yoga Sutras with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and the science of our nervous system. My therapeutic approach empowers you to look within yourself for answers and trust your intuition, and my role as your therapist is to draw from my knowledge and experience to help guide. As a Clinical Therapist, yoga teacher, and professional outdoor guide, we will create a customized treatment plan tailored to your unique well-being goals. I utilize a trauma-informed approach that blends evidence-based interventions and clinical theories, psychoeducation, nature, yoga, and mindfulness practices. Some clinical theories I draw from include CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Experiential, Choice Theory, and the science of our nervous system. I personally enjoy bringing in elements of honoring what is sacred and the natural rhythms and cycles of the earth, whenever appropriate.
